[Europe & Egypt 2006] It's Sunday evening, 30th September 2007, and I'm sitting here with the laptop, in Miserable Melbourne, it's cold, windy, 15C or so, and I'd prefer to stay inside that go out there. So I'm doing something I should have done a year ago - write our little journal of our 2006 Holiday, which we call our 2006 Eurotrip for lack of a better name. So basically, wind the clock back to 2004-2005, and Briony had been harrassing me for months about going overeas, mainly the Egypt thing. To be honest, I wasn't all that fussed at Egypt as I thought it would be dodgy and dangerous, however I was pretty keen on the Europe thing. After having completed our trip, I could not have been more wrong about Egypt. After months of hounding me, I finally surrendered and agreed to begin seriously looking into an overseas holiday. Anyway we did a bit of initial research and it was looking to be a mighty expensive exercise, and we figured that if we were going to travel any time in the nexy century, we should start saving! We started saving as much money as we could, and finally things were looking up - we were going overseas. We didn't know much about anything just yet, but right from the start one thing was for sure - we were doing it alone, we wanted no part of any silly tourist bus group, it was us, our maps, our backpacks and a good time. So here we go, the 2006 EuroBlog! Last modified: Wednesday, 01-Aug-2018 13:25:38 ACST Site created by Callan Davies / CRUZN 2007-2010 Some content protected. Other content free for your use.
